Pain equals God

written by Daniel Piper

Why do those close to God experience so much pain?

Yet those far from God show off all their gain?

I believe the more you experience pain, the closer you draw to Christ.

The more you run away from pain, the more you’re running away from God.

For our God experienced ultimate pain on the cross.

Drinking the whole world’s sin is a pain no one should have to bear.

To draw close to the cross, is to feel all the pain the Savior felt.

Running away from the cross, truly is to run away from pain.

I believe we all suffer pain. No one can escape the pains of this world.

If you feel the pain now, you can begin to taste the riches of God.

If you numb your pain, you’re going to taste the riches of this world.

Feeling the pain on earth: ushers in eternal peace and joy.

Numbing away the pain on earth: ushers in temporary, fleeting pleasures.

This is what I’ve come to know: To experience God on earth is to experience pain while patiently waiting for an unspeakable, divine gain.

Pain equals eternal joy and pleasure. Just look at the cross of Jesus Christ. He was dealt the worst of pain and now He sits at the right hand of God the Father.

Numbing away pain equals no experience of God.

To experience God, you must experience pain.

Pain equals God.

“But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed.” – Isaiah 53:5 ESV
