Written by Daniel Piper
I lay down my life for my Lord and my wife.
I don’t want a single selfish bone.
Selfishness has no place before God’s throne.
Satan had his moments of selfishness and now look at him.
So I just cling to the cross of Christ.
As Yahweh demands I live holy and without sin.
I lay down my life for my Lord and my wife.
Putting others first, well before myself, shows the love of Christ is running through my veins.
Jesus has won over every corner of my heart.
He’s always held me when life is full of pains.
There’s nothing I leave behind for me.
I am a soul being refined in the Lord’s fire.
A real man, dawning and wearing the Lord’s eternal attire.
My home is not on this planet called Earth.
My soul is eternal.
The value is determined by what Jesus’ blood is worth.
I am not waiting to be sinless, free and redeemed.
Salvation is now!
Now is the time to be radically transformed and cleaned.
Yes, I may fall into traps of sin but afterwards I run straight to the cross.
What other hope do I have when darkness wants to destroy my life and keep me lost.
The enemy uses lies like your insignificant, insufficient and incapable in order to jar me loose from a holy standing before God.
Oh enemy flee!
I am significant.
I am capable.
I am truly alive, joyful, free and redeemed.
I am all these things at the cross.
Because I am the one who belongs on the cross.
Yet the Lord of Heaven took my place.
He freely gives me an abundant, righteous life where my sins have been wiped away and erased.
Oh, that I may always be content and know exactly who I am at the cross.
I am radically and infinitely loved.
I am welcomed.
No matter the weight of my sin the cross can bear it.
The cross consumes my heavy sin into the eternal depths of God’s grace and mercy.
In return the Lord gives me a new purpose, identity and spirit.
He whispers, “Dear child, you are worthy.”
It’s as if I’ve been refined in a holy fire.
All things have been made new.
I am a new creature, with new desires.
The Holy Spirit is alive and well.
It’s seeking and searching the souls of men where it can prosper and dwell.
Oh Lord, I open my heart to you.
I pray it daily stays open, all of the time.
And when the enemy surrounds me with that deadly voice saying you’re unworthy, incapable, and insignificant.
May I run straight as an arrow to the cross.
And tell Satan: NO.
The Son of God. He’s mine!
The Lord has made me brand new, so alongside Christ – I can forever shine.
May I confess my faults and weaknesses to my wife and dear saints.
May I do whatever it takes to remain in the still, resting place as King David vividly paints.
I desire every day to wake up on my hands and knees.
Praising Yahweh.
He’s poured out the Holy Spirit upon me.
So I lay down my life for my Lord and my wife.
The Lord Jesus Christ has proven He’s worthy of every corner of my heart and aspect of my life.
I need to achieve nothing!
God makes me a pillar in Heaven.
What have I to gain when in the Holy Temple and before the Almighty’s throne: Look! There’s my written name!
May I just be and know and taste and see and feel and touch and discover and embrace all that I am at the cross of Christ.
So I lay down my life for my Lord and my wife.
