A True Father

written by Daniel Piper

There is a divine relationship between Father and Son that we get to fully experience…

A true Father will lavishly give his son all good things.

A true Father will do anything to make his son prosperous.

A true Father will give his son more blessings and leave little for himself.

A true Father will lift his son up, if he gets knocked down.

A true Father will give his son all authority and bless him with a crown.

A true Father will deliver his son when darkness and calamity abound.

A true Father will allow his son to suffer, so a greater good can be found.

A true Father will invite his son to sit right by his side, and bid him never to leave.

A true Father will always speak the truth, there will be no room to deceive.

A true Father will never stop searching for his son, if he becomes lost.

A true Father will save his son's life, even if death is the cost.

A true Father will always desire to spend time with his son, every hour of every day.

A true Father will quietly listen to all the needs of his son and will satisfy all the heart's desire.

A true Father will hold his son tightly in his arms and never let go.

A true Father will give his son all knowledge and show him all the wisdom he needs to know.

Is this not the relationship between God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ? And hear this! You and I are freely invited to dwell right in the middle of this divine Father – Son relationship!

Oh, how wonderful and marvelous is the gospel of Jesus Christ! Peace, joy and love are only found in middle of this divine relationship! God the Father will do all these things for me and you, if we are abiding in His Son.

“Jesus said: “Because I live, you also will live. In that day you will know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you. Whoever has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me. And he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him… If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him… These things I have spoken to you while I am still with you. But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid… As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide in my love. If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and abide in His love. These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full.” – John 14: 19-23, 25-27; John 15: 9-11 ESV
